朴후보가 통진당의 이석기 애국가 부정, 통진당 국민의례 부정, 국가보안법 철폐, 주한미군 철수 여부를 문제 삼은 것은 적절했다. 그러나 이정희가 교묘한 화술로 ‘말 돌리기-트집 잡기-딴지걸기’로 응수하자 오히려 역공을 당하는 모습을 보였다. 여기서 이정희는 결정적 패착을 두었다.
李씨는 천안함 폭침과 연평도 도발의 책임을 모두 이명박 정부에 돌리고 북한의 미사일 발사와 관련, “실용위성” 운운하며 “남쪽 정부에서는...아니 대한민국에서는”이라고 말하는 등 김정은 정권을 대변하는 발언을 서슴지 않았다. 문재인 후보 역시 천안함·연평도 사건에 대한 시각이 李씨와 큰 차이가 없어 상당수 국민의 반감을 자초했다.
李씨는 또 박근혜 후보를 가리켜 “장물로 월급을 받고 살았다”는 등 격렬한 어조로 인신공격에 나섰다. 시청자의 반감을 자초한 말이다. 그녀는 또 박정희 정권과 새누리당, 이들을 지지해 온 대한민국 주류세력 전체를 가리켜 “사대매국” “유신독재” “친일과 독재의 후손” “대대로 나라주권을 팔아먹은 세력”으로 맹공하며 “애국가를 부를 자격도 없다”고 매도했다. 대한민국 현대사 자체를 부정하는 북한식 主體史觀(주체사관)의 전형이다. 좌경화된 한국이지만, 김일성주의자들이 장악한 통진당 세력이 TV에서 떠들어대는 이 헛소리에 격분하는 국민들이 많았을 것이다.
북한정권을 유지시켜 한국에서 기득권 유지에 연연하는 親盧(친노)세력의 위선과 대한민국의 정통성을 부정하는 從北(종북)세력의 반역성을 폭로하지 못한 박근혜 후보에 대해선 아쉬움이 남는다. 그러나 비정상적 정치세력에 난타당하는 朴후보의 모습에서 오히려 정상적 정치인의 얼굴을 발견했다.
토론 이후 지지율 변화가 궁금하다. 反국가·反헌법 세력의 위선과 반역이 국민을 속이는 결과가 나올지 아니면 조국의 내전적 상황을 깨닫는 계기가 됐을지.
