2012년 대선의 가장 큰 이슈는 통일이다. 북한 김정은 체제의 終熄(종식), 남한 從北세력의 淸算(청산)을 통한 자유통일의 큰 틀을 만드는 것이다. 북한인민 2400만의 解放(해방)은 물론 남한사회 화두가 되가는 부패, 불평등, 부조리, 일자리 문제를 풀어줄 血路(혈로)도 여기 있다. 도덕적 명분과 물질적 성취의 두 마리 토끼를 잡는 것이다.
평범한 이들도 이 같은 흐름을 느낀다. 1일 언론보도에 따르면, 대통령 직속 자문기구인 ‘민주평화통일자문회의’가 실시한 조사 결과에 따르면 응답자의 14.3%는 김정은 체제가 ‘몇 년 안에 붕괴할 것’이라고 답했다. ‘시간이 걸리겠지만 결국 붕괴할 것’이라는 응답은 60.3%. 요컨대 응답자의 74.6%가 북한 체제의 붕괴를 점친 것이다.
김정은 체제가 ‘30년 이상 지속될 것’이라고 답한 이들은 18.6%에 불과했다. 이번 조사 결과는 2012년 2월에 실시한 ‘국민통일여론조사 결과’와 큰 차이가 없다. 2월 당시 북한 체제 안정성에 대해 응답자의 73.8%는 “북한 체제가 불안정하다”고 답했었다.
김정은 체제의 붕괴는 자유통일을 이룰 절호의 찬스다. 지도자란 天時(천시)를 읽고 變革(변혁)을 이뤄낼 인물이다. 안타까운 일이지만, 2012년 7월 한국의 비극은 카이로스적 시간을 읽어 내는 지도자가 없다는 데 있다. 넋 나간 이명박 정권은 물론 부패사범을 앞세워 ‘경제민주화’를 외치는 새누리당, 從北과 손잡고 계급 갈등과 선동을 일삼는 민주당. 하나같이 시대착오다.
숨죽이며 기다려본다. 나아갈 빛, 조국의 사명을 일깨울 영웅의 등장. 북한의 급변이 불러낼 超人(초인)의 출현. 여름 가뭄의 시원한 단 비. 7천만 긍휼의 아버지. 기회는 반드시 오고 사람은 반드시 있다.
