北미사일 발사 비용 '8.5억 달러'
중국산 옥수수 250만톤, 쌀 141만톤, 밀가루 212만톤 구입가능

■북한이 다음달 12~16일 발사 예정인 대포동 3호 미사일 발사에 소요되는 비용은 총 8.5억불로 추정된다. (발사장 건설비용 4억불, 대포동 미사일 개발 3억불, 위성개발 1.5억불)

 

■이 비용으로 북한이 식량을 구매하게 된다면 중국산 옥수수 약 250만톤을 구입할 수 있는 금액이며, 쌀을 구입하면 약 141만톤을 구입할 수 있다. 밀가루의 경우 약 212만톤을 살 수 있는 액수이다. (2012년 2월 시세 기준: 중국산 옥수수 340달러/톤, 쌀 600달러/톤, 밀가루 400달러/톤)

 

■북한이 장거리 미사일/로켓 발사를 추진하지 않는다면 동창리 발사장 건설을 시작한 2000년 이후 북한 주민들에게 매년 옥수수 20만톤 혹은 쌀 12만톤을 배급할 수 있었다.

참고로 WFP가 추정하는 북한의 식량 부족분은 매년 40만톤 정도이다. 장거리 로켓을 개발하지 않고 식량을 구입하여 주민들에게 배분했다면 식량위기는 극복할 수 있었을 것이다.

 

■만일 이번 미사일 발사로 인해 미국이 2월29일 美北간 합의된 영양지원을 하지 않게 되면, 북한은 추가적 식량(영양지원) 24만톤까지 얻지 못하는 결과를 초래하게 될 것이다.
