UN에서 한국, 미국, 일본, 유럽 대표들 김정일 묵념 거부 집단 퇴장!
“김정일은 유엔에 모범이 되는 지도자가 아니다”
유엔에서 벌어진 일이다. 22일(현지시각) 미국 뉴욕 유엔본부에서 총회가 시작되기 전 북한이 김정일 추모 묵념을 요청했고, 카타르 출신의 알나세르 유엔총회 의장이 이를 받아들여 193개 회원국 대표들에게, 총회 일정 시작 직전 ‘1분간의 묵념’을 요청했다.
 
 의장은 “유엔 정회원국에 대한 의전 차원”이라면서 “17일 사망한 김정일을 추모하는 슬픈 임무를 맡게 됐다”고 말했다. 그는 ‘북한 조선노동당 총비서’, ‘국방위원회 위원장’, ‘조선인민군 총사령관’ 등 줄줄이 이어지는 김정일의 직함을 일일이 열거했다.
 
 당시 총회장에는 193개 유엔 회원국 외교관 중 절반가량이 자리를 지키고 있었는데, 한국 미국 일본의 외교관과 영국 프랑스 독일 등 유럽연합(EU) 회원국 외교관 다수가 묵념을 거부하고 퇴장하였다고 한다. 이 외교관들은 25초간 진행된 묵념이 끝난 뒤 다시 자리로 돌아왔다. 유럽의 한 외교관은 “수 만명이 사망한 데 책임이 있는 사람의 죽음”이라며 “김정일은 유엔에 모범이 되는 지도자가 아니다”고 지적했다는 것이다.
