The History Makingsummary 1. The division of South and North Korea is rather a spiritual division than an ideological division. After the declaration of independence from Japanese colonial rule in 1945, South and North Korea chose different paths. North Korea adapted Communism which is based on the materialism that denies the existence of God, and South Korea inaugurated its National Assembly with a prayer to God on May 31, 1948. People that believed in communism moved to North Korea, and the Christians from North Korea fled to South Korea to find the freedom of religion. North Korea eventually created its own ideology called ¡°Juche Ideology¡±, worshiped Kim Il Sung as their god and became the land of idolatry. After the spiritual division, North Korea became the most horrible place on earth, and South Korea became the benchmark of national revival and Christian prosperity. This results show the stark differences between those who abandoned God and those who follow and serve God. When South and North Korea become spiritually unified, we can finally declare that we are a truly unified country. Will the freedom of finding God be in North Korea? Or, will South Korea be covered with Juche Ideology in which Kim Il Sung is worshiped as God? Will entire Korean peninsula be unified in the light of God, or will it become the land of darkness? It all depends on our faith and will. 2. The spiritual principles of the division of Korea are reflected in the constitution of Korea. In Article 3, the constitution states that ¡°The territory of the Republic of Korea shall consist of the Korean peninsula and its adjacent islands.¡± And, Article 4 states that ¡°The Republic of Korea seeks unification and formulates and carries out a policy of peaceful unification based on the principles of freedom and democracy.¡± Korean constitution clearly states that South Korea is the only legitimate country, entire Korean peninsula is a territory of South Korea, and the people of North Korea are the citizens of South Korea. According to the constitution, North Korean government is mere a rebel group. In other words, South Korea, where people can freely call God and Jesus Christ, is where the legitimacy exists. And shall not be any other way of reunification than the unification under liberal democracy in which the freedom and the lights from South Korea spread into North Korea. North Korean government shall be peacefully dismantled, and North Korean people shall be extricated and saved. Federal Reunification Policy, in which North and South Korea negotiate as equal partners, is mere an unacceptable and unattainable mirage as it contradicts South Korea¡¯s own constitution. ¡®Liberal Unification¡¯ does not simply imply that a failed system is taken over by and integrated into a successful system. The division of Korea is a spiritual division, and therefore the reunification implies a spiritual unification. Liberal Unification means that North Korean people, who live and die in hell, will be physically extricated and spiritually saved. It is a unification in the name of God, and it is the only solution for Korean reunification. 3. ¡®Liberal Unification¡¯ is unification by our faith in God¡¯s providence. Therefore, humanistic attempts are not the proper ways of approaching liberal unification. The only way to approach liberal unification is sympathizing North Korean people with the heart of God, pryaing to God with the prayers that move the heart of God, and achieve the revival of Korean churches through those prayers. Holy prayers themselves will be a great march and they will recreate the history of Korea. Unification of Germany is also an example of how prayers could change history. The triggering event was an election fraud by the East Germany government on the municipal election in 1989. People started to gather in the court of St. Nicholas Church (Nikolikirche) after the church¡¯s weekly ¡°Prayer for Peace¡± on every Monday. Soon the number of people explosively increased. By October 9, 1989, what had begun as a few hundred gatherers had swelled to more than 70,000. The number increased to 120,000 next week, and then to 320,000 the week after. After unsuccessfully tried to control the peaceful demonstration by force, GDR had no choice but to announce Appeasement policy. They had to allow refugees to exit directly through crossing points, including Berlin Wall. On the same day, Administration modified the proposal to include private travel. At the press conference to announce new regulations, ¡°one of the most beautiful mistakes in the history¡± was made. The spokesman of GDR announced that, starting immediately, East Germany¡¯s border is open to everyone. After the announcement was broadcasted, thousands of East Germans were gathered at the border gates, demanding the guards open the gates. At this point, East German authorities couldn¡¯t do anything but open the gates. People from East and West Germany gathered together and celebrated. 1 year later, Germany was reunified. Not all Germans believed that they could be reunified. In early 1989, only 3% of people in West Germany believed that Berlin Wall will be destroyed and Germany will be reunified. Reunification of Germany is one of the greatest historical events of the 20th century that was made possible by the prayer of the 3% that believed. 4. Reunification of Korea will have more spiritual significance than the reunification of Germany. Therefore, the prayers that will move the heart of God will be the golden key to open the door of unification. God will achieve the liberation and salvation of North Korea by the faith we keep during the time in which it¡¯s difficult to keep our faith, and by our entreaty during the time in which it¡¯s difficult for us to entreat God in great hope. We don¡¯t need spies that turn their backs at the land that flow with honey and milk. If the armies of Joshua and Caleb arise and cross the river Jordan, believing in God¡¯s miracles of providing manna and quail for Korea for past 60 years, God may give us a miracle of liberal unification tomorrow. Now, we have to pray for confession and repentance for our cowardly silence when the people in North Korea were being violated, assaulted, and massacred instead of remembering ¡°those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering (Hebrews 13:3)¡±. We have to go on fasting and praying for freedom and salvation for North Korean people as ¡°Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke? (Isaiah 58:6)¡±As Korean churches follow God¡¯s words, God will once again revive Korean churches. God himself will lead us through the process of unification and all matters afterward. 5. Answers to excessive unification cost, a large number of refugees, intervention and interference of China, and all other related matters could be found and achieved on earth by looking for and praying to God. Even anti-Americanism that has become one of the major issues in Korea is just an expression of darkness, hatred, and anger that will disappear as communism, socialism, and humanism, that gained power by opposing God, fall apart. Westward Expansion of Gospel, a joint effort by the U.S. and South Korea, was interrupted by communism and it resulted in the division of Korea. On the other hand, the reunification of Korea would imply the glorious future of Christianity of Korea and the U.S. that would spread to the end of the earth. As it was evident in Germany¡¯s reunification process, the U.S.-South Korea alliance would not only be an essential element to overcome China¡¯s intervention, but also would it be spiritual alliance between the countries. 6. A new world will be opened to us when Korea is finally reunified. God will ¡°call for the grain and make it plentiful and will not bring famine upon (Ezechiel 36:29)¡± North Korea, God will also ¡°resettle (North Korean) towns, and the ruins will be rebuilt (Ezechiel 36:33)¡±, ¡°the desolate land will be cultivated instead of lying desolate in the sight of all who pass through it (Ezechiel 36:34)¡±, and ¡°this land that was laid waste has become like the garden of Eden (Ezechiel 36:35)¡±, and God ¡°will make their people as numerous as sheep in the desolate land (Ezechiel 36:37).¡± North Korea, the land that has been under the most furious attack from Satan, will be rebuilt as a missionary base. Youths from North and South Korea, holding hand in hand, will lead all those who have been cursed, abandoned, and troubled because they haven¡¯t heard the gospel to God. It will be a great spiritual harvest. It will be Paxkoreana, the peace that reunified Korea will bring to all of us. It is the peace that will be attained not by force or violence, but by the faith we have in God and the love for our own people in North Korea. And a country of priest, not an empire, is how unified Korea will be. Constantin Virgil Gheorghiu said, in his book ¡°The 25th Hour¡±, that the light would come from the east. He said that as Jesus Christ was born in a small town in Bethlehem and became the light of the world, it would be not at all surprising that the light of tomorrow comes from Korea. Because Korean people have been under numerous hardships, yet they have overcome all the hardships ever placed on them. He also said that Korean people reminded him of ¡°Job¡± in bible. He also said Korea was not a peninsula, but a jewel of Asia. Korea is jewelry, carefully crafted with 3,400 islands and enlaced with 1,800 km of seashore, which is placed in its place in order to make this world a more beautiful place. President Lincoln¡¯s Emancipation Proclamation freed 500,000 slaves, and led to world-wide slavery abolition. Emancipation of 24 million North Korean people will be a dawnlight for all those abandoned and ignored people in the world. I can only imagine a day on which the youths of this land with great vision to march toward Jerusalem through Pyongyang, Beijing, Samarqand, Aral Sea, Caspian Sea, Volga River, Paris, and Madrid. 1. Pyongyang is the capital city of North Korea. Beijing is the capital city of China. Samarqand is in Uzbekistan, most noted for its central location on the Silk Road between China and the West. Aral Sea was a lake that lay between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan Caspian Sea is bounded to the northwest by Russia, to the west by Azerbaijan, to the south by Iran, to the southeast by Turkmenistan, and to the northeast by Kazakhstan. Volga River flows through Russia. Paris is the capital city of France. Madrid is the capital city of Spain. kim sung uk 2013.01.06 19:57
